Numerous IBM servers are at the heart of an extensive statewide network. The billing office is equipped exclusively with IBM workstations backed by IBM on-site support. Redundancy is built into all aspects of the medical system and network architecture to include redundant T-1 and Fibre optic lines for internet service. Reliability is a key factor in a smooth billing operation. Down time is minimized through the “no single point of failure” design. Backups are redundant and programmed to run routinely throughout the day.
Network Integrity & Disaster Recovery
Automated Health developed, owns and manages the comprehensive technologies supporting the infrastructure used for billing, practice management, electronic commerce and document storage. The fault tolerant servers and software applications provide a powerful bank for all hospital, clinical, and billing data. The servers are part of an integrated disaster recovery plan and; a complete offsite library is maintained to ensure data continuity.
System networks are private, thereby eliminating corruption or vulnerability of data. All servers operate via T-1 and Fibre optic lines, and numerous IBM servers perform various processing functions. A registered network provides e-mail and terminal services if a client desires to add these services to their billing. User names and passwords are unique, and appropriate firewall protection is in place on all equipment. The equipment is protected in a 24 hour climate-controlled and fire-protected room dedicated for this purpose. The system is extremely resilient, protected, and foolproof. Clients are assured of minimal downtime. Routine maintenance is scheduled on weekends and holidays to ensure no interruption of service to clients or patients.
